WINGS & WHEELS DAY 

28th April 2019

The Club hosted a Wings & Wheels Day in Conjunction with members of the Classic and Specialist Car Club of Northern NSW. Members from both club's enjoyed the camaraderie with twelve aircraft and twenty-three cars taking part in the day.

Armidale Aero Club members were the original inhabitants of the present day airport site and in 1946 were responsible for preparing a landing strip by removing trees and stumps to what is the Armidale Regional Airport site we know today.The original Club premises were located further north from the present day site. 

Members gathered at the club on a very cold Sunday 19th August 2018 to celebrate forty years since the present clubhouse was completed by members and volunteers.         


The club premises was officially opened by the then Member for New England the Rt. Hon. Ian Sinclair MHR on the 19th August 1978.


'Turkey Mountain' 

 After early morning low cloud cleared at Armidale a number of members had an enjoyable flight to Bob and Martie Coulton's property Turkey Mountain at Warialda for lunch on Sunday 20th March

Kempsey Autumn Fly-In March 17th 2018

Three aircraft and eight members travelled to Kempsey on Saturday 17th March for the inter-club Robert Cumming Memorial Shield. Members enjoyed the Kempsey hospitality with relaxed flying in perfect conditions. After individual points for the day were tallied on Saturday afternoon Armidale came up just short of Kempsey who are the Shield holders for 2018.

Warwick Aero Club Visit     

Members hosted 15 members in seven aircraft from Warwick Aero Club for lunch on                                Sunday 29th March 2015. A very successful day of aviation fellowship was enjoyed by all.      WAC members arrived for morning tea around 11am after staying Saturday night at Wal and Lynn Chapman's property 'Milani'.
